Michel Perchin (1860-1903), Peter Carl Fabergé's head workmaster from 1885 to 1903, was a self-taught goldsmith from a peasant background. The now almost mystically legendary Imperial Easter Eggs, as well as the many other great works that came to symbolise the Fabergé hallmark, were Perchin's creations. During his lifetime, Michel Perchin was esteemed as one of the greatest artists in jewelry history. In 1995, The Renaissance Pen Company acquired the trademark of Michel Perchin and began to design and manufacture exquisite writing instruments under the name of the brand’s illustrious namesake.
